Community Treatment Solutions (CTS) is fortunate to have a Youth Advisory Board (YAB) that is comprised of young, creative and thoughtful individuals. This newly-formed group represents youth from each program within the organization. The original purpose of the CTS Youth Advisory Board was, and still is, intended to give CTS youth a voice in CTS services. YAB empowers youth by allowing them opportunities to express their opinions and ideas.
The Youth Advisory Board is also interested in helping youth within CTS and others in the community. For Halloween, the YAB created goodie bags for small children in CTS and similar programs. This was a fantastic project for our youth, as they learned how to work independently and cooperatively. But our kids did not want to stop the philanthropy there!
The Community Treatment Solutions Youth Advisory Board has officially begun work on a holiday food drive to support local families in need. Donations of canned goods and non-perishable items can be dropped off at either our CTS Moorestown office (236 W. Route 38) or our office in Bridgeton (622 Landis Ave.) through December 14, 2015.
The YAB are directing the food drive project from start to finish: They created the flyer that is available here to download, they are organizing the donations, decorating the donation boxes and they may even deliver some items. They will also be asking for donations as well.
So we are asking everyone to please support the CTS Youth Advisory Board’s first large charitable endeavor and families in need. Let’s show our kids that they can not only be successful at this, but also be successful at anything else they put their minds to! Please click on the link to download the flyer for details. Happy holidays!
